Good Morning 2014.  Here you are.  And here I am.  I’m not sure I was quite ready for you yet, but I’ve noticed that the way time passes is rarely affected by what I am and am not ready for, so I suppose it’s no surprise that you arrived anyway.  You were right on schedule after all, according to my calendar.  I saw you in last night, if only just, and without a bang.  Try not to take it personally.  I was sleepy.  So far you are not raining, which I choose to take as an excellent omen for the year ahead.  Thanks for that. Oh, the Insanity

Well.

It’s a beautiful day.

Auspicious.

It’s almost one o’clock and I just woke up.  Here’s the first day of the new year and I’ve already missed half of it.  Unless you count the first six hours that I normally would have been sleeping.  So maybe it’s a wash.

Ah well.  I’m not a big new year person anyway.  I think most people are either into Christmas or new year and I’m a Christmas girl.  If there’s no party, I don’t really care.  I generally try to stay up until midnight and then go to bed soon after.  Party animal, me. Continue reading

It’s that strange week between Christmas and the New Year when going to work makes you feel like you’ve entered the twilight zone.  Maybe you have this week off, in which case maybe it doesn’t seem weird to you; it just feels like part of Christmas vacation.  But when you have to go to work that day after Boxing Day, nothing feels quite right.
