Oh Scary Night

I try really hard to like Halloween.  In theory, it’s a holiday that I should be fond of:

• Dress up in costumes? – Excellent
• Carve pumpkins into faces?  – Brilliant
• Collect money for UNICEF? – Wonderful
• Parties with themes? – Fantastic
• Free candy?  – Hell yes!
• Firecrackers? – Ay, there’s the rub.
