Rule # 81 – Know Thyself

Right.  I really must remember never to underestimate my own susceptibility to the power of suggestion.

You know how the other day I was talking about researching silversmithery?  Well, I was mostly joking about that.  But then, since I was on the computer anyway, I decided to look it up.  And guess what?  I am now more or less obsessed with the idea.

From what I watched on youtube, you get to use mini blow-torches, which smacks of fabulous from the get-go.  (Mini blow-torches are the part of the creme brulee making kit that make me consider buying a creme brulee making kit every time I go to a kitchen shop.)

The idea of using the verbs “forge” and “solder” is strangely appealing as well.  Also, I quite love silver jewelry.

So, I am going to take a class and make some silver stuff.  I am pretty thrilled.  So far I have found four places that look like they have interesting classes:

I have a few things going on in the next while to plan around, so maybe this will have to wait until the fall, but I actually think I’m going to do this.  Random.

I guess I’ll keep you posted.

  1. I LOVE that you are going to do this and I want details once you do! That is great! I understand what it means to become obsessed with random things to the point that you MUST do something about it to quench the all-consuming desire. Good for you!
